The mission of the Corinthian Yacht Club Junior Sailing Program is to instill within its participants a lasting respect and appreciation for the joys of sailing. The principal aim of the CYC Junior Sailing Program is to teach the fundamentals of sailing within a safe, fun, and noncompetitive environment. It is the goal of the CYC Junior Sailing Program to build students’ confidence on the water, and to enable them to master basic sailing skills that focus on self-sufficiency afloat. The CYC Junior Sailing Program promotes ethical behavior among its sailors and encourages the teaching of life-long lessons which seek to build character, foster teamwork and camaraderie, strengthen respect for self and others, and promote coastal and marine environmental awareness.
